FALLING TO MIGHTY BARROLLE 4-0
Monrovia, Liberia -Invincible Eleven’s poor performance in the ongoing national league continued on Wednesday, November 23, 2023, at the Tusa Field as they fell prey to Liscr FC, while their traditional rivals Mighty Barrolle remain on course for silverware.
With six points from nine league games, the Sunshine Yellow Boys, as they are lovably nicknamed, fell 3-2 and are still in the relegation zone. Sekou Sheriff’s set piece and Danie Toe brace delivered a crushing blow to their hopes of winning the crown.
With the victory, Liscr FC now leads second-place Mighty Barrole, who have played the same number of games as Liscr FC, by two points, with 22 points from nine games. Nuch Zohn’s four goals gave the Rollers motivation as they destroyed FC Kallon 4-0 at the Doris Williams Sports Field in Grand Bassa to hold onto second place.
Nimba Kwado, on the other hand, defeated Heaven Eleven to get back to winning ways. After nine league games, the Sanquellie-based team earned 10 points, outnumbering their Montserrado colleagues 3-2 at the ATS. They were inspired by Nyan Dahn’s brace and Captain Josephus Mentor’s lone strike.
Bea Mountain was also inspired by Sierra Leonean International’s Ishmael Dumbuya’s hat-trick in their 3-2 comeback win over Cece United FC as Freeport FC pulled a surprise 4-2 win over Paynesville FC on Tuesday.
One-time champion Watanga FC moved to 3rd place with 17 points after collecting a 4-0 win over former champions the LPRC Oilers at the SKD practice pitch. They are tied on points with Bea Mountain, but goal differences separate both sides.
