Monrovia, Liberia – The ABC Medical Clinic in Gardnersville has been labeled “illegal” by the Liberia Medical and Dental Council (LMDC), which also claims that Abraham Kamara is a fraudulent physician.
A statement from LMDC claims that Abraham Kamara allegedly murdered 39-year-old Madam Dorcas Vondeh by performing an illegal surgery while posing as a doctor. After performing a surgery without the necessary training that resulted in her death, Kamara, the owner of Gardnersville’s ABC Clinic, has been charged with medical malpractice and fraud.
A legal lawsuit submitted by Elbert Law Firm on behalf of the relatives of the deceased states that on March 16, 2025, Kamara operated on Madam Vondeh to remove a fibroid. She was advised to have surgery, according to Redemption Hospital’s medical records, but she chose to have the procedure done at ABC Clinic rather than consult a licensed specialist because she believed Kamara’s exaggerated claims of knowledge.
Unfortunately, Vondeh died soon after the surgery due to severe complications. Investigations reveal that Kamara failed to stabilize her condition and that critical medical protocols were not followed either before or after the surgery.
According to sources, ABC Clinic was previously closed for failing to comply with health laws, which has further heightened worries about the situation. Despite an official closure notice, the clinic operated illegally for two years without obtaining accreditation from the Liberia Medical and Dental Council (LMDC), according to Clinical and Research Director Joseph Colmah.
Kamara has gone into hiding since Vondeh’s passing. He is being hunted by authorities on criminal allegations of fraud, practicing medicine without a license, and medical carelessness that results in death.
The LMDC’s Bureau of Communications/Public Relations Officer, James-Emmanuel D. Cole, Jr., has called on anybody with knowledge on Kamara’s whereabouts to come forward.
“To ensure that justice is done, we are urging all residents to help find this person. No one should suffer at the hands of unqualified practitioners,” he stated.
