President George Manneh Weah after the closing of the 2022 Cabinet Retreat in Gnaty-City, toured some towns and cities in Nimba County. President Weah’s tour was to visit and reunite with his people, especially where development is taking place.

President Weah arriving in Saclepea was met with a huge crowd for that part of Nimba county. Saclepea a commercial town was at a standstill due to the Liberian Leader’s arrival including top officials of the county.

Chanting songs of praise on the Liberia Leader, the people of Saclepea praised President Weah for the road construction into the city. As they sang, they call President Weah “Saye-kozee” meaning our own.

Speaking on behalf of his people, the City Mayor of Saclepea Jeremiah Yenkan welcome the president and his officials into the city. He praised Mr. Weah for the development of the city and its environs. The mayor at the same time appealed to the president to build a modern city hall in saclepea. They named micro-loans for local business women as a good sign of leadership in promoting economic and women empowerment.

Senator Prince Johnson also speaking praised the Liberia Leader for the work in the county. He said, since 1822 the road leading to the town was not developed, but Mr. Weah is making sure that the road gets a new shape and in the first class state linking Grand Gedeh. Senator Johnson informed Nimbaians that he did not ask them to vote for someone who will not look after their wellbeing, but one who is in the people’s interest and will promote the development of the county.

“I WILL NOT TAKE YOU TO THE RIVER WHERE THE CROCODILE WILL EAT YOU, I WILL NOT TAKE YOU TO THE BUSH WHERE THE LION AND TIGER TO EAT YOU,” Senator Johnson.

Senator Johnson encouraged his kinsmen to vote Mr. Weah as president come 2023. According to him, voting for Mr. Weah is the continuation of the developmental work in the county and the promotion of peace in Liberia. The citizens in that part of Liberia who agreed with Senator Johnson pledged their support to Mr. Weah as the president of Liberia come 2023.

President Weah in responding to all speakers praised the people of Nimba for the support. Thanking them he said during his campaign in 2017, he pledged to work for the Liberian people when elected. According to him, there is no reason why there should be no road connective to nearby countries like Ivory Coast, Guinea, and Sierra Leone.

The Liberian Leader informed his audience that Liberia belongs to all Liberians and as such there should be peace among all people, especially Liberians. He encouraged all to work with the government and noted that anyone who refuses to work with the government is not in the interest of the Liberia people.

The people give Mr. weah gifts including traditional cloth and food items to the Liberian Leader and official saying thank you as a means sharing with one another.
