Information Minister Piah Promises to make State Broadcaster, ELBC, a Radio Station for all Liberians

Monrovia, Liberia – Jerolinmek Piah, the newly appointed minister of information, pledges to turn ELBC, the national broadcaster, into a radio outlet that caters to all Liberians. Minister Piah emphasized during his presentation on the ELBC radio morning program on Monday, March 4, 2024, that the station’s primary goal is to serve the general public, and not just a particular subset of society.

Mr. Piah asserted that in order to foster peace and national progress, the state radio should act as a bridge between the opposition and the ruling parties. Minister Piah cautioned journalists, in particular talk show hosts, to be morally sound in their examination of important national issues.

Minister Piah emphasized the importance of keeping politics out of the Liberian media, noting that doing so will support the country’s unity.
