Paynesville, Montserrado – With a commanding first victory in the 2025 National Basketball First Division League, Invincible Eleven (IE) has finally ended their losing run. In a lopsided game at the SKD Gymnasium in Paynesville, coach Emmanuel Nimely’s team put on a dominant performance, crushing fellow strugglers Commissioners 73–21.
Although there were four games played over the weekend, IE’s performance was the main topic for conversation. With strong defense and efficient fast breaks, IE established dominance from away, making it difficult for the Commissioners to create any attacking rhythm.
For a club that had come under increasing fire for their dismal start to the season, the game was a turning point. Following the final whistle, head coach Emmanuel Nimely commended his team’s determination and voiced his happiness with their performance. He also expressed his sincere thanks to the devoted supporters who stuck with the squad during its challenging time.
“This victory holds great significance for both the team and our fans. Despite the strain we’ve been under in recent weeks, the players maintained their composure and demonstrated their abilities. I wish to express my gratitude to our supporters. There is still a long way to go, but it has been a difficult beginning. They must be on our side at every stage while we construct anything,” Coach Nimely stated
The win gives the Invincible Eleven team a much-needed boost in the standings in addition to boosting confidence within the team. IE will be looking to build on this momentum and move up the table in pursuit of consistency as the league goes on. Later this week, they will play again in an attempt to maintain their winning streak.
On Sunday, June 29, 2025, at SKD Gymnasium, LPRC Oilers defeated league newcomers Spartacus 66–56 in a hard game, marking their second victory over the league’s newcomers in the 2025 National Basketball First Division. Oilers maintained a consistent advantage throughout the game because to their tenacity and tactical discipline under head coach Varfley Corneh’s direction.
Oilers’ excellent defensive organization and ability to take advantage of crucial scoring opportunities were evident in the ten-point victory. Oilers have now defeated Spartacus twice in a row this season, solidifying their superiority in the head-to-head series.
Spartacus, affectionately known as the Spartans, is still a formidable opponent in spite of the defeat.
