Monrovia, Liberia – The renowned Invincible Sports Park hosted the Norris Tennis Initiatives Christmas Youth Tennis Tournament on Saturday, December 30, 2023, with Benjamin Kandarkai and Favour Gbana becoming victorious.
Favour Gbana triumphed in the female division, while Benjamin Kandarkai won the male division. In the female division, Heritage International Leadership Academy’s Zuri Shannon placed second.
For the men division, Courage Gbartoe also finished in second place. Each category’s first winner received a brand-new Wilson racket, while the runners-up received toys, a pack of chocolates, an armband from Prince Sports and a brand-new sports vacuum.
Meanwhile, Norris A. Ben, a former tennis star from Liberia, organised the competition through his foundation, Norris Tennis Initiatives. In order to keep the sport relevant in Liberia, Norris stated that he wants to see the sports played every part of the country.
