An international nongovernmental organization, the Keyera Gift, has awarded scholarships to over 155 students at the cost ofUSD$ 110,000 in five counties in Liberia. The Country Representative of the Keyara’s Gift, Reverend Francis Kollie, said the scholarships also include the provision of book bags, copy books, uniforms, shoes and health insurance.

Reverend Kollie made the disclosure when Keyera’s Gift distributed books, book bags, pens, and pencils to over 155 scholarship students in Paynesville during the weekend.

The Country Representative of Keyera’s Gift warned those students, who are not performing well in school, to double up because they rick dropping from the scholarship program.

Rev. Kollie thanked Madam Karen Ecklund and Kreig Ecklund of Keyara’s Gift International for their support to children in Liberia.

The Keyera’s Gift Country Representative maintained that the provision of scholarships to students is intended to buttress the Pro-Poor Agenda of the Liberian government.

He commended the Liberian government through which the organization can offer scholarships to students whose parents cannot pay their school fees. The students were from five counties including Montserrado,  Margibi, Bong, Nimba, and Grand Bassa Counties.

Responding on behalf of the parents, Mrs. Maleay Karmoh, thanked Keyera’s Gift for the provision of scholarships to their children as the assistance will go a long way in making an impact on the lives of the children.

The distribution of books, book bags, pens, and pencils was graced by parents of the students and employees of Keyera’s Gift from the five counties.
