LAF expresses worry on the alleged sale of Jo’s image rights.

The Liberia Athletics Federation (LAF) has expressed happiness over what it termed as the overwhelming support it received from the Government of Liberia and the general public during the just-ended World Athletics Championship in Oregon, USA.

But the Federation has distanced itself from entering into a deal or negotiations about image rights or promotion deals for any of its athletes.

The Liberia Athletics Federation in its release over the weekend said the federation has nothing to do with selling the image of any athlete for raising funds. They added that these things are handled directly by the athlete via his or her hired agent.

According to LAF, it has been reliably informed that one Mr. Edwin Fahnbulleh is distributing and selling the image of athlete Joseph Fahnbulleh claiming that the proceeding will be provided to the Federation to raise more athletes.

LAF acknowledged that the information is a surprise and complete news, adding that, at no time the federation ever or will negotiate a personal image rights deal for any of its athletes, especially without expressed consent.

The Federation also wishes to apologize to Jo and his team and indicate it has nothing to do with the publication and looking forward to whatever action legally he is trying to pursue.
