The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency is investigating four of its officers for allegedly making away with US$2,000 and other valuables belonging to a businesswoman in Johnsonville, Montserrado County.
According to the LDEA, the officers are Jeremiah Nippy, Emmanuel Duo, Bill Slewro, and Emmanuel Payne were assigned in Johnsonville where they allegedly carried on the act. LDEA Communication Officer Michael Jiplah told a team of reporters on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, that a businesswoman recently reported that the four officers were allegedly involved in a robbery in Johnsonville and made away with other items.
Following the incident, authorities of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency immediately took seizes of the matter and placed the four officers under investigation for their alleged involvement.
LDEA Communication officer assured members of the public independent investigation of the matter in order to restore the good image of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency.
In another development, Michael Jiplah described the delay in the passage of the drugs law by the legislature as a total setback to the fight against recycling and illicit drugs activities across the country.
