LFA Launch US$3M Mobilization Drive for AFCON 2027

Paynesville, Liberia – Officially announcing a National Team Mobilization Committee to spearhead the Lone Star’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification bid, the Liberia Football Association (LFA) made a significant step toward continental success on Friday, February 27.

The event, which took place at the LFA offices, signaled the start of a bold plan to bring Liberia back to the top of Africa’s football scene. The committee’s creation was described by LFA President Mustapha Raji as a “strategic pathway” intended to modernize the nation’s football organization via cohesion and financial stability.

President Raji revealed a proposed national team budget of approximately US$3 million, highlighting that the committee’s mandate extends far beyond mere ceremony.The group will spearhead  Fundraising Initiatives, Logistical Support, Government Liaison to : Strengthening the partnership between the LFA and the national government, Improving ticketing systems and “fair engagement” protocols also Securing private and public resources among others.

“United behind the Lone Star, we will succeed,” Raji asserted, urging the committee to bridge the gap between talent and the resources required for elite preparation.

Accepting the charge, Committee Chairperson Luther Tarpeh delivered a stirring call to action, framing football as the ultimate antidote to national division. Tarpeh pledged absolute transparency and accountability in the management of funds, promising a “door-to-door” campaign to solicit support from Liberians both at home and in the diaspora.

The Chairperson did not reserve his expectations for the public alone. He issued a stern challenge to the Lone Star players, demanding “maximum commitment” on the pitch. With Liberia’s wealth of raw talent, Tarpeh noted that failure should not be an option as the nation sets its sights on 2027.

“We will come to your doors. Please support the National Team.” Tarpeh concluded.
