Liberia Amputee striker, Morila sign for Konya club in Turkey

Another Liberia’s Amputee footballer gets professional contract in Europe.

Monrovia Giants striker, Morila Boakai departed the country on Thursday, February 10, 2022, to sign for Konya Amputee Football Club of Turkey for an undisclosed fee.

Morila was part of Liberia’s Amputee National Football team that finished 3rd in Angola 2019 Amputees Nations Cup and runners up to Ghana in Tanzania 2021 edition.

He was one of the best players in both competitions having played pivotal role in the country successes.

He is the 3rd Amputee footballer to get professional contract in Europe (Turkey) after Samuel Tengbeh and Matthew Joe.

Morila Father is a Sierra Leonean while his Mother is a Liberian, but he choose to represent Liberia over Sierra Leone.

His departure was marked with a wonderful farewell match with his colleagues on Wednesday at the SKD Sports complex in Paynesville.
