Liberia “TOP BLOGGER” Support AML New Deal with Liberia.

Monrovia, Liberia – ArcelorMittal Liberia’s new concession deal has received strong endorsement from “GARY THE BLOGER,” one of the country’s most popular blogs. The blogging site stated in a statement on its official page that they have not been compensated for their support of ArcelorMittal. Instead, it is a sincere effort to improve Liberia’s economic climate and draw in more investment.

They added that there has been an alarming increase in the negative sentiment and animosity Liberians have toward concession businesses in the country over the past several years. “We do not think everything has go right at these concessions areas, but there is always room for dialogue with companies instead of putting them against the Liberian people through lies and propaganda.”

The blogger maintained that leaders have every right to deal with a corporation that does not fulfill its commitments under a concession agreement signed with the Liberian government, not by inciting public ire or launching defamatory campaigns.

“The pattern of attacking concessionaires instead of constructively enforcing agreements is scaring off investment in a country already struggling to attract any. Liberia hasn’t attracted any major foreign direct investment (FDI) in over 7 years in large part due to this hostile tone we exhibit and other factors.”

Côte d’Ivoire reportedly drew about $13 billion in foreign direct investment in 2024 alone. Nearly $15 billion was obtained by Guinea for improvements in infrastructure and railroads. Liberia, however, received 100%. How will jobs be generated in the private sector if Liberia keeps viewing all investors as adversaries and all concessions as frauds? In what ways will the nation’s infrastructure be developed better?

Many Liberians have asked these few questions, which demand prompt responses. It is important to note that the Liberian government has stated repeatedly that she cannot hire people on her own. As part of its commitment to supporting national development, AML has committed to hiring additional Liberians under this new arrangement.

“It is time to correct and not destroy. Engage and not enrage. Fix and don’t flame the situation. Liberia needs investment to thrive and that starts with leadership, stability, and facts.”
