Liberian Grassroots Female Developmental Basketball Coach Buckle Certificated by FIBA Africa Zone-3

Monrovia, Liberia – Following completion of the necessary training in Madagascar, FIBA Africa Zone-3 has certified Angel R. Buckle, a Liberian grassroots female developmental basketball coach. She and a few other coaches from other member nations received certification on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Increasing the number of grassroots coaches through training is one of the ways the Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA) is rebranding the game in Africa.

FIBA Africa Zone-3 announced her readiness to collaborate with the new administration of Abraham Samukai as soon as a dispute that had held the basketball house stage in Liberia for almost four years was resolved.

FIBA has been helping the local organization and mending its bond since he became the President of the Liberia Basketball Association. The obligation to host the Zone-3 Women’s qualifiers later this year has also been placed on Liberia.

After several years of restriction due to ban, the top-performing clubs at the conclusion of each league season will start to compete in international events. Under Abraham Samukai’s direction, all of these events are occurring.

Liberia will compete in their first international tournament in almost fifteen years at the same time. From July 29 to August 5, this year, the under-18 male and female teams will compete at the 2024 Junior Championship in Ivory Coast.

Additionally, the LBA President declared that under his management, the organization will do all effort to guarantee that basketball in Liberia continues to grow. He insisted that things will improve in the future despite obstacles.
