Changsha, China – A delegation of thirty Liberia media professionals have successfully concluded a two-week intensive media communication seminar in China, aimed at enhancing their professional skills and strengthening China-Liberia media cooperation.
The training, organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, brought together reporters from Liberia, who engaged in lectures, workshops, and interactive sessions with Chinese media experts.
During the session, participants explored best practices in news reporting, digital media innovation and ethical journalism.
Beyond the classroom, the Liberian media professionals embarked on cultural and professional visits to major Chinese cities, including Changsha, Guangzhou, and Shanghai.
They toured prominent media houses such as Hunan Daily and Changsha Daily, exchanged experiences with veteran Chinese journalists, and observed newsroom operations firsthand.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Varney Kamara, Supervisor for videography, Executive Mansion expressed gratitude to the organizers for the knowledge gained, noting that the experience would significantly improve reporting standards in Liberia.
According to him, over the past fourteen days, participates immersed themselves in the world intricate of modern media.
“We studied how China has skillfully leveraged cutting-edge technology, media convergence, and artificial intelligence to build not only a powerful media industry but also a more connected society,” he added.
However, Kamara explained that the Liberian journalists learned digital storytelling techniques that breathe life into facts, explored the precision of data journalism, and experimented with multimedia production that blends creativity with credibility.
