Grand Bassa County Senator and embattled Political Leader of the Liberty Party (LP) Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence has urged partisans of the party who believe in the legacy and dream of their late political leader for a better Liberia to hold together and ensure that his legacy remains alive.
On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, Senator Karnga-Lawrence’s faction of the LP organized a program to celebrate the life of Cllr Charles Walker Brumskine Founding Father and late Standard-bearer of the party on the occasion of his 71st birth anniversary at its Montserrado County headquarters, Oldroad, Monrovia. While making a special statement, Madam Karnga-Lawrence encourages partisans to keep the legacy of Cllr Brumskine.
” I want to encourage all of us though we have our differences, God has been blessing us with committed people that love the party and Cllr Brumskine legacy. I want to encourage us to remain together. When Counselor was here as a leader it was not perfection in our relationship but we solved our problems and move ahead”, she told partisans at the gathering.
She spoke about using the occasion to discuss and solve issues affecting the party “We all have our own story besides our general political party and the reason why we celebrate this occasion is to hear from one another, learn and remember this day of the man that we believe in, to emulate him”, mentioning that the day is to celebrate the impact of the late counselor.
She thanked all partisans and friends for attending the memorial program of Cllr Brumskine, stressing that it is only with teamwork and commitment, firmly holding together to ensure that Liberty Party will never fall. “This party will not die. Liberty Party will be strong and I can assure you that the story will change for the better”.
We are ready, willing, and still standing to continue the task of the late Cllr. Brumskine because we were all mentored by him and he will continue to be our role model, she said.
Remarking earlier, the daughter of Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine, Cllr. Charlyne M. Brumskine in her sober mood described the occasion as a moment of celebration, expressing happiness for the love and care that her family continues to receive from the party.
“Thank you all for standing with the Brumskine’s family. Today we will celebrate because my late father was a man of smile. This is not about us but his people. “Thanks to LP for standing with my father.”
