Monrovia, Liberia -The International Association of Lions Clubs has recognized Clemenceau Urey, the District Governor of District 403-A2, for his exceptional leadership and devotion to the Lions in his district, as well as his dedication to furthering the association’s objectives throughout the 2024–2025 Lion year. He received a certificate for reaching targets and a $154000 Presidential Silver Medal.
Lion Urey has represented Liberia in the international Lionism scene ever since he came to power. He has demonstrated humanitarianism, visionary leadership, and an unshakable commitment to enhancing communities inside and outside of Liberia.
Lion Urey has led initiatives that are in line with Lions Clubs International’s global aims. His accomplishments consist of: Effect on the Community: Leading national campaigns for eye care outreach: Thousands of Liberians have been directly impacted by the JFK Eye Center, the opening of eye centers in Grand Bassa and Nimba Counties, as well as six more that will be built in Montserrado, Margibi, and Bomi Counties. Additionally, the AMEU Computer Lab for Visually Impaired Students will raise awareness of childhood cancer, diabetes prevention, and hunger relief.
In order to ensure the longevity and effectiveness of Lions Clubs in Liberia, Lion Uray has established mentorship and leadership development programs for young people. He has also called for the establishment of strong partnerships with international Lions Clubs, non-governmental organizations, and government agencies in order to raise money for worthy community projects.
Attending regional and international conferences and ensuring that Liberia’s voice is heard when developing policies and projects would help to increase Liberia’s visibility and representation within Lions Clubs International, Uray noted.
Reiterating his devotion to the Lions’ slogan, “We Serve,” Lion Urey expressed thanks for the trust he has been given and emphasized that his achievements are not personal but rather a testimonial to the dedication of Lions across Liberia who come together for the common good.
