LNP Investigates Boulevard Palace MD’s Death

Monrovia, Liberia – In light of concerns over whether Anwar Futloo, the general manager of the Boulevard Palace Hotel, committed suicide or was the victim of malicious behavior, the Liberia National Police (LNP) has opened an inquiry into his unexplained death.

Inspector General Gregory Coleman told reporters at the police headquarters at a news conference that although initial evidence points to suicide, the case is still being investigated. IG Coleman claimed that on December 31, Mr. Futoo proceeded to a Humanitarian Home on 9th Street, where he allegedly used the restroom and swallowed a cleaning agent.

“Security personnel rushed in after hearing the screams coming from the restroom and discovered him lying on the floor,” Coleman said. Before the event, he said, Mr. Futoo reportedly bought the cleaning agent from a nearby grocery before the incident.

As the inquiry progresses, more information will be revealed, as persons of interest have been located and are being looked into, the police chief stated.
