LNP FORWARDS MAN 40 TO COURT FOR ALLEGED STATUTORY RAPE.
The Woman and Children Protection Section of the Liberia National Police has arrested, investigated, charged, and forwarded to court a 40-year-old man identified as Jackson Zarbay resident of Upper Caldwell.
He was arrested on March 11, 2022, at 10:00 am based on a complaint filed by Sangay Klay and Patience Brown parents of the victims, and alleged that their 12year daughters were sexually abused by suspect Pastor Jackson Zarbay.
During a police preliminary investigation conducted with one of the victims, she explained that her aunty Marthalyn Dixon carried her to Pastor Jackson Zarbay church for deliverance on Benson Street, Upper Caldwell.
She further narrated that the suspect told her that they should go to the school building (Christ Foundation Institute) so he can test her.
The police investigation also revealed that the victim went inside the school building, where suspect Zarbay followed her and took out her clothes and laid her on the bench, and sexually abused her by inserting his manhood inside her.
She also told police investigators that suspect Pastor Jackson Zarbay had sexually abused her several times during night hours.
Also explaining to investigators was one of the victims who narrated that her mother Patience Brown carried her to suspect Jackson Zarbay for the same deliverance.
The victim alleged that she was taken in the school building and was asked to undress and place his hands on her mouth and wanted to sexually abuse her and managed to escape from the church.
In view of the fact and circumstances gather during this investigation, coupled with medical records, the investigator has resolved to charge Suspect Jackson Zarbay with the commissioned of the crime STATUTORY RAPE which is in violation of section 14.70 (1) (a) (i) (b) of the New Rape Law of Liberia and forwarded to court for prosecution.
