As the official kick-off of 2021/2022 National County Sports meets move closer on 11 December, defending champions, Lofa County over the weekend launched its Operations under the banner, Retain the Trophy”.
The launch was intended to reawaken the County’s momentum in its quest to retain the Football Trophy and Capture the Kickball title and other trophies in the upcoming competition.
The event which took place at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville City saw several sons and daughters of the county purchasing the official fan jersey as a means of rallying supports for the team.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Lofa County Sports Steering Committee, Momo Cyrus in conversation with journalists during the launch called on Lofaians not to allow politics to create division in the county.
Chairman Cyrus said they should use sports as unifiers to see the county as the common denominator, adding that, retaining the football trophy and capturing the kickball championship along with other trophies should be the primary concern of every Lofaian.
