Lone Star poor performance under Keita continues against Libya

Monrovia, Liberia – In a 3-2 loss to Libya in an international friendly played in Casablanca, Morocco, over the weekend, Lone Star’s dismal play under head coach Ansu Keita continued. Since taking over for British tactician Peter Butler, this was his third loss with the national squad in four games.

Poor defensive play by the Liberian team contributed to their downfall, which the Libyans exploited to win the game. The two goals for Liberia were scored by Murphy Oscar Dorley of Slavia Prague and Mohammed Kamara, who is based in Israel.

Coach Keita and his team have departed from Casablanca and are currently in Agadir, where they will play Morocco in the final qualifier of the 2024 Nations Cup for Ivory Coast. The earthquake that claimed hundreds of lives in September of last year forced the CAF to delay the match.
