Buchanan- The Opposition Liberty Party has raised about 11- Million 789 – thousand 9- hundred and 50- Liberian Dollars against their fundraising program. The objective of the party was to raise the amount of 20- Million LRD.
The Money, which is more than half of the amount, was generated on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the pavilion at the fairground community in Buchanan City during the party’s fund drive program.
Besides the amount raised, the pledges came to over 8 million Liberian dollars by the partisans, supporters, and other well-known individuals both in Liberia and the Diaspora.
The overall objective of the money generated is to prepare the Liberty Party in supporting its local offices and provide logistics for their partisans ahead of the 2023 presidential and legislative elections.
The fund drive was well attended by some prominent stakeholders of the county as well as statesmen of the country.
Some of those personalities who attended the occasion included: Former Vice President and Unity Party Standard Bearer Joseph N. Boakai, Representative Yekeh Kolubah of Monsterrado County District#10, Senator Abraham Darius Dillion of Montserrado County, and Senator Steve Zargo of Lofa County.
Others were: Senator Jonathan Kaipay of Grand Bassa County, Unity Party Former Representative Candidates Sethro Dennis, and Confrangar Peters among Others.
