Maryland County – A legislative aspirant in District One , Maryland County  Stephena Tocquie has expressed regrets and sorrow about the gruesome murder of daughter of the former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scot and the injury of another during an armed attack at her residence   in Brewerville

On February 22, 2023, daughter of the Justice Scott was killed, and another seriously injured when unknown armed men attack residence located near the Sheriff Gas Station Community in the Brewerville in District 17, Montserrado County   District 17, Montserrado County.

Speaking in an interview to this news network, Madam Tocquie described the assault as irresponsible and compared the Weah administration to the late days of former President Samuel Doe when citizens were killed secretly.

She alleged that the Weah-led CDC government is only interested in stealing the nation’s resources, leaving its people to live in squalor. Madam Tocquie pointed out that the failure of the government to take punitive action against the alleged perpetrators is the cause of the nationwide problem of mysterious deaths and ritualistic murders.

Madam Tocquie accused some CDC government officials of using terror to intimidate the general populace and silence regime critics in order to maintain their hold on power indefinitely. The candidate for Maryland County District One representative stated that CDC government officials show no remorse for people despite the severe economic hardship that ordinary citizens are currently experiencing.

She claimed that while the people of Liberia are struggling, some government officials are continuing to drive the newest cars, construct duplexes, and buy cars for their girlfriends at the cost of the country’s citizens.

Aspirant Tocquie indicated that the best way the country can move forward is to vote President Weah and his team of officials out of power, noting that the citizens deserve better life, but they have been strangulated allegedly by the CDC government.

Madam Tocquie continued that due to what she termed corruption by the CDC-led administration, investors have abandoned the nation. She claimed that the Weah administration’s poor governance had resulted in the everyday treatment of the Liberian people as beggars.

The Maryland County District One representative aspirant warned the Liberian people not to be carried away by the CDC government’s empty promises which only intended to disgrace the country and its citizens on the African continent. She urged the opposition political groups to unite if they were to defeat the CDC-led administration in the upcoming elections in October 10, 2023, noting that they all share the same objectives.

She believes that women in Liberia carry the greatest responsibility when it comes to suffering, the aspirant encouraged all women to get involved in every aspect of society in order to help the country advance in terms of development.

Madam Tocquie revealed that corruption has eaten the fabric of the country and undermine leadership over the years, she urged her female peers to stand up and help move the country forward.

The Maryland county District One representative candidate repeated her calls to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming 2023 elections, declaring that nothing will stop her from serving the district’s residents in the National Legislature.
