MFDP presents 2023 draft fiscal budget of over $700-millon USD to the House of Legislators

The 2023 fiscal budget draft, which totals over $700 million in US dollars, has been presented to the House of Representatives by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

In presenting the draft budget on Monday, December 5, 2022, Tenneh Brunson, the Deputy Finance Minister for budget planning, stated that the entire income envelope is anticipated to be USD$707,794,400, of which external resources constitute 110,000,000 US Dollars.

According to Deputy Minister Brunson, domestic economic activity has been somewhat solid, and revenue performance has been better than anticipated so far this year.

House Speaker Dr. Bhofal Chambers expressed appreciation to Ministry of Finance officials for their efforts in developing the draft budget after receiving the document.

House Speaker Chambers promised that the budget will serve Liberians’ interests.
