Monrovia, Liberia – To guarantee the successful implementation of the Fiscal Year 2025 National Budget, the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) is scheduled to hold an extensive workshop. The session is scheduled for January 9–11 at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex.
It is intended to improve and broaden the knowledge of spending entity technical staff and policymakers on important fiscal regulations, budget execution processes, monitoring, and reporting. This initiative is critical to enhancing the capacity of spending entities to execute their budgets efficiently and responsibly.
By providing participants with the required information and resources, the workshop will assist guarantee that public monies are utilized efficiently to address residents’ needs while advancing the government’s more general development objectives.
The workshop aims to improve understanding of fiscal rules, policies, processes, and procedures related to budget execution, monitoring, and reporting; strengthen spending entities’ ability to provide timely and responsible financial and performance reporting; and promote better inter- and intra-ministerial coordination to support the efficient, accountable, and responsible use of public funds, according to a release from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
Officials from 108 spending entities will be among the 596 participants at the program. While the last day of the session will especially target spending entities in charge of project implementation, the first two days of the event will concentrate on all attendees.
