Commerce Minister Madam Mawen Diggs is appealing to the executive and legislative branches of government to fully support the Liberia Marketing Association due to its preparedness and readiness to transform the country’s economy.

It can be recalled since the inception of outgoing President Alice Yeebhan, the LMA has been in several crises due to bad leadership, alleged corruption, and other internal and external crisis which brought serious division within the Association for the past years.

Against this backdrop, the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Internal Affairs set up an interim management team headed by Atty. Lusene Bility took the association to its special convention in Bong County that witness the election of Madam Elizabeth Sambolla.

According to Madam Diggs, LMA is the foundation of Liberia’s economy noting that they play an important role in transforming the country’s economy for the betterment of society.

Serving as a guest speaker on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at the induction ceremony in Paynesville, the Commerce Minister called on the leadership and marketers to put aside their difference and unite in gaining their rightful place in society.

Minister Diggs at the same time assured the Liberia Marketers Association that all is now set to make available the two million loans promised by President Weah for Marketers during his National county tour beginning January 2022.

The newly elected President of the Liberia Marketing Association Madam Elisabeth Samballa has called on the Coalition of Democratic Change leg-government headed by President George Weah to quickly intervene in alleged acts of City Mayors and District Commissioners for taking over their building in the country.

According to Madam Samballa, City Mayors and District Commissioners have forcedly harassed Marketers depriving their rights and allegedly taking over the Markets Places across the country something she said is creating fear for Marketers.

Madam Samballa mentions Grand Cape Mont County Commissioners as examples of the alleged acts. The LMA President pledged to remain committed to working with national and local government and Markets superintendents for the better society of Liberia.

Madam Elizabeth Samballa made the disclosure on Tuesday in Paynesville during her inaugural ceremony.

Meanwhile, the LMA President is requesting to National government international partners to provide Materials is helping to clean the Market places and streets to have safe environments. According to Madam Samballa the streets of Monrovia is dirty because Monrovia City Cooperation  and Paynesville City Cooperation have working requirement and usually overcharged Marketers before taking the waists which is a serious challenged for Business People
