Monrovia, Liberia – A distinguished group of retirees were honored by Her Excellency Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in a heartfelt and dignified ceremony on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the C. Cecil Dennis Memorial Auditorium for their years of outstanding service to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ministry representatives, staff members, and special guests gathered for the occasion to honor the exceptional accomplishments of the retirees who have served with honor, honesty, and dedication.

In order to show the government and people of Liberia their sincere thanks, Foreign Minister Nyanti gave certificates of appreciation to each retiree at the Honouring event. The ceremony served as evidence of how much the Ministry values the hardships and dedication of its long-term staff.

Foreign Minister Nyanti said that without the tremendous efforts of the retiring colleagues, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would not be what it is today. “We are still building on the solid foundation that your commitment has created. Your legacy has a lasting impression on this institution’s history and archives.”

The Dean of the Cabinet stressed that retirees continue to be relevant to national service once they retire. She promised to use their extensive knowledge and institutional memory to her advantage as needed.

“Your services will always be valued,” she added. “You serve as national role models whose lives and professions will motivate not only our present staff but also the next generation of Liberians.”

After receiving the award, the retirees thanked the Ministry and Foreign Minister Nyanti. Many expressed their continuous readiness to assist the Ministry in any way they could and reminisced about their time in service.

“This honor means a great deal to us,” said Mr. Abenego G. Tarr, one of the 58 honorees. “We are pleased with the improvements the Ministry has achieved over the years and grateful for the chance to have served.”

As coworkers and visitors praised the retirees’ accomplishments with applause, smiles, and sincere remarks, the occasion was filled with appreciation and admiration.

Maintaining a culture of excellence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs acknowledges the importance of institutional knowledge and the importance of honouring those who have paved the way for future generations of public servants.
