Monrovia, Liberia – In an effort to raise awareness and encourage advocacy for maternal health throughout Liberia, the Ministry of Health, led by the esteemed Dr. Louise M. Kpoto, is happy to announce the successful conclusion of the Maternal Health Catchphrase Competition.

During a ceremony at the winners’ respective campuses, Hon. Atty. Malayah Tamba Chieyoe, speaking on behalf of the Health Minister, gave cash awards to the exceptional participants who showed remarkable originality in creating powerful slogans for maternal health.

The winners of the competition are as follows: 1st Place: Precious David – Awarded LRD 100,000 (Drims School System), 2nd Place: McAlbert Ireland – Awarded LRD 70,000 (Don Bosco), 3rd Place: Nehemiah Daye – Awarded LRD 50,000 (Drims School System).

In her remarks, Hon. Atty. Chieyoe praised the winners’ creative efforts and emphasized the value of student involvement in enhancing maternal health outcomes. Your slogans will be effective instruments in our national campaign, reinforcing the idea that we do not want pregnant mothers or infants to perish.

In partnership with public and private schools, the Ministry of Health established the competition with the goal of encouraging young people to support maternal health awareness via innovative messages. To increase their influence even more, the winning phrases will be used in national health initiatives.

Reiterating its commitment to improving mother and child health across Liberia, the Ministry thanks all participants, schools, and partners who helped make this program possible.
