Shandong Province, China – Along with other provincial officials and members from the Shandong Port Authority, Vice President Koung engaged with Shandong Province Governor Mr. Zhou NaiXiang as part of his diplomatic visit to the People’s Republic of China.

The purpose of this tour is to strengthen relationships between the two countries and look into potential joint ventures that might benefit Shandong Province and Liberia. Vice President Koung was guided on a tour of the Shandong Port Group-at Qingdao Port during the visit.

One of Qingdao Port’s noteworthy features is the world’s first fully automated container terminal, which makes it a significant shipping hub in China and fosters international trade. The port’s importance in global trade and logistics is demonstrated by its state-of-the-art facilities and efficient operations.

The president of Shandong Port Group showed his appreciation for the Liberian vice president’s visit in a welcome speech, pointing out the possibility of collaboration that may improve port operations in Liberia.

He emphasized the value of cooperation in promoting economic expansion by exchanging knowledge and technical advancements. The governor reassured Vice President Koung that Shandong Province is very interested in developing strategic alliances to support sustainable development projects and strengthen Liberia’s economy.

The need of fostering a solid and friendly connection between Shandong and Liberia was emphasized by Vice President Koung during his talks with Governor Zhou NaiXiang. Among the important industries he selected for investment were mining, trade, education, and agriculture.

Alongside the Liberian Vice President were Assistant Finance Minister for Budget Sarah Mulbah, PPCC Commissioner Bodger Scott Johnson, GSA Deputy Director General for Operations Robert Wilson, and Minister of Public Works Roland Giddings. Seeking bilateral agreements in several areas, these officials form part of the Boakai-Koung government’s official tour to China.
