Monrovia City, Liberia and Houston City, USA signed TWO years MoU.

The Monrovia City government and Houston City of the United State of America on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen the relations between both cities and seek to develop ideas of promoting mutual exchange and cooperation of economic benefits.

Gender Minister Willamette Piso Tarr, Council Member of Monrovia signed on behalf of Monrovia Dr. Carolyn Evans-Shabazz Council Member of Houston, and Christopher Olson and Director of International Affairs signed on behalf of Houston City, United States of America.

Remarking on the signing ceremony Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee said the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is a great step in strengthening collaboration between Monrovia and Houston.

The MoU will promote human resource development understanding between citizens of the two cities and examine opportunities where there is a need to develop stronger ties and identify areas of cooperation and explore possibilities of partnership in those identified areas.

At the same time, Carolyn Evans-Shabazz Council Member of Houston city, and Christopher Olson and Director of International Affairs USA said the two cities would increase their cooperative efforts through the MoU to upscale mutual exchange and cooperation.

Madam Carolyn Evans-Shabazz added that the MoU will also see among others, initiatives across fields like education, trade, agriculture, public works, energy, and cultural exchange that will benefit the citizens of both cities.
