NaFAA DAMEN and Shipyards Gorinchem B.V. to collaborate in strengthening Liberia’s fisheries infrastructure.

Monrovia, Liberia – DAMEN Shipyards Gorinchem B.V. and the National Fisheries & Aquaculture Authority of Liberia met strategically to discuss ways to work together to improve Liberia’s fishing infrastructure.

Hon. Augustine Manoballah, NaFAA’s Deputy Director General for Administration, highlighted the government’s dedication to modernizing the fishing industry through technical and financial collaborations during the conference.

To improve livelihoods and grow Liberia’s blue economy, two artisanal fishing ports and an industrial fishing port in Maryland and Grand Kru Counties are top priorities of the project.

Mr. Vikaash Becham, DAMEN’s Regional Director for Africa, reiterated the company’s willingness to assist Liberia’s goal, emphasizing that DAMEN provides sustainable, long-term maritime solutions that are suited to the requirements of communities and governments in addition to shipbuilding.
