The Coral Reef Innovation Lab, International, in collaboration with Blessed Virgin Mary Magnificent hat, has climaxed a day-long education meeting on National Digital Literacy, on ways for the country to get on part with 21st-century technology education.

The daylong education 4.0-digital literacy dialogue, brought together education stakeholders and media at Murex Plaza in Sinkor, through highlights on sharing knowledge on the training of trainers module for teachers in all schools.

The trainer’s education module is developed to build and enhance the capacity of teachers to deliver digital learning to pupils, and assist them with the anticipation that three teachers per school, will be trained to benefit from its initial stage.

The project which was held Thursday, July 21, will also cover the distribution of broadband digital devices for all learners and develop the capacity of teachers as well as implementors.

The digital literacy project also seeks to develop and provide appropriate content for digital learners and establishment of a plan to assemble and refurbish devices and relevant accessories and as well as a simulate workshop for students.

The Coral Reef Innovation Lab, a Ghanaian-based learning education provider, seeks to provide smart lab skills, resources, and technology to learners to improve their potential in the job market and as well as breed entrepreneurs across the African continent.

During the one-day event, Ghanian expert Educator urges an embrace of the digital libraries across Liberia’s Education Curriculum to put the country in line with global and become the conduit of promoting best practice education across the birth of the country

Managing partner of Coral Reef Innovation Lab told the gathering Liberia among other African countries educational system that is enormously challenged when outdated materials are still being taught due to the country’s failure to adjust its national curriculum to modern-day reality and embrace technology and entrepreneurship for its growing population.

According to Mr. Osei-Anim Liberia and most African countries including his country, Ghana has refused to make an adjustment to their National curriculum which is why the containers are not creating thinkers and entrepreneurs that will drive the economy of their country.

He noted that for the public this program is good and if Liberians accept this, the best is to digitalize the content so that teachers can engage with technology. “There is no place in Ghana where I have been where nobody has this device or idea that I am sharing here today.”

Speaking further he stressed that the world is no longer small but has changed and its time that Liberia and many African countries develop a well-organized school curriculum that will conform with current day reality by making adjustments and improvements in their educational sector because people are no longer learning outside the country just academically but with extract curriculum where they can be able to have skills of technology innovation and entrepreneurship as paramount tools for transformation.

” I have traveled to almost every area in Africa and lived outside Africa before coming back to my country to settle. In Ghana, after ten years or more before the curriculum is upgraded and even before that time, it’s outdated globally. What I have seen and noticed is that most countries in Africa’s education systems including Liberia’s education system still are still stocked in the 20 century. If Liberia and other African countries can embrace the ‘’Education 4.0 framework’’ this continent will have thinkers that will drive the economy of their countries because, at that time, the nation will be embracing technology and entrepreneurship. With those skills according to him, do not need to move from your country before you can make money rather you can be in your country and still make money outside digitally’’ he made the statement Thursday, July 21, 2022, at a one-day education 4.0 dialogue Liberia edition held at the Murex Plaza in Sinkor, Monrovia.

The experienced educator noted in West Africa, the government of Ghana had made high school education free therefore, every year close to a million graduates are in the job market but without jobs, because they are leaving school without technological knowledge and entrepreneur skills to open self-door for them and the same is also with Liberia.

On Thursday, July 21, 2022, Coral Reef Innovation Lab a Gahanna educational program invented and introduce by Mr. Richard Anim officially launched ‘’Education 4.0 framework’’ Liberia edition aims at strengthening and developing the entrepreneurs and technology capacity and skills of Liberian and African at large to be on the path with effective academic curriculum.

The one-day Liberia edition of the program brought together several stakeholders from the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Angie Kolue Nynemah, Lavela Von Ballmoos, and resident coordinator and organizers, universities and high school students as well as journalists from various media institutions in Liberia.

Making a PowerPoint presentation, Mr. Osei. Anim said that the education 4.0 framework seeks to establish global citizenship skills which include contents that focus on building awareness about the wilder world, sustainability, and playing an active role in the global community.

He further indicated that innovation and creativity skills are the most developed and needed skills in education 4.0 that foster skills required for innovation including complex problem-solving, analytical thinking, creativity, and system analysis, adding that interpersonal skills like emotional intelligence which include cooperation, and negotiation, leadership and critical awareness.

“Personalize and self-pace learning: move from a system where learning is standardized to one based on the diverse individual needs of each learner and flexible enough to enable each learner to progress in their own space.

“Accessible and inclusive learning: move from a system where learning is confined to those with access to the school building to one in which everyone has access to learning and is therefore inclusive. Problem-based and collaborative e-learning: move from process-based to project and problem-based content delivery, requiring peer collaboration and more closely mirroring the future of work’’ he said, calling for a major consideration.

Meanwhile, the digital project outlines a new concept of establishing producer speeds in technical and vocational schools across Liberia, by providing hands-on hand creative ways to encourage students to learn new skills; design, experiment, build and invent, as they deeply engage in science and engineering among others.

It seeks to have students acquire 3Dmodelingg and 3D printing CNC milling internet of things, Laser cutting, micro-controller programming Virtual, web and mobile app development, PCB design and fabrication amongst others.

The main concept is geared at redesigning the country’s education system to meet up with the 21st century and to redefine the role of teachers through the provision of digital skill and attitudes that satisfies the generational values of teachers through digital supports that will empower them to equip Liberian students to thrive in the world at large.
