Monrovia, Liberia – In collaboration with the Liberia National Students Union (LINSU) and the Liberia Information Technology Students Union (LITSU), Uhuru Tech Solution, a Liberian technology company, has released Refresher, a ground-breaking educational app that helps senior high school students get ready for mock exams and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Teachers, students, and important education stakeholders attended the technological app’s inauguration, hailing the innovation as a significant advancement for Liberia’s academic community. Uhuru Tech Solution Executive Director Foldestine Paye spoke and praised his team’s hard work and inventiveness, calling the software “a digital bridge between students and success.”
According to Paye, the WASSCE and Mock Exams are taken annually by thousands of Liberian students, determining their future in further education and the advancement of their careers. Many of them fail because they lack the necessary resources and tools, not because they are unintelligent or unmotivated. That is altered by refresher.
He clarified that students can use the Refresher App on their mobile devices to access study materials, practice questions, and previous exam papers. The platform would assist bridge the learning divide between rural and urban schools, he said.
“For too long, our students have faced the same challenge — a lack of access to quality materials,” Paye noted. “Refresher is more than an app; it’s a movement to give every student, from Monrovia to Maryland, the opportunity to learn and grow through technology. With this tool, learning is no longer limited by location, cost, or resources.”
The launch marked the start of a “new revolution, not of politics or protest, but of knowledge, technology, and opportunity,” according to Paye.
James Washington, president of LINSU, also spoke, praising Uhuru Tech for the endeavor and urging parents and school officials to support students in embracing the platform. “This is a proud moment for Liberian education,” Washington said. “Our students now have a powerful digital companion to prepare for their exams. LINSU will roll out training sessions nationwide to ensure students make the most of this innovation.”
He added that the partnership between Uhuru Tech, LITSU, and LINSU demonstrates a common goal of using technology as a vehicle for academic advancement in the country. Liberia has taken a big step toward integrating technology and education with the release of the Refresher App, which might change how pupils learn and perform well on national and regional tests.
