Monrovia, Liberia – The 2025 AFCON preliminary qualifiers are Mario Marinica’s first significant assignment, and he has already made a great start. Marinica has appointed Chris Wesseh as goalkeeper trainer and Kelvin Sebwe as his local assistant coach, respectively.
The two will cover the Lone Star’s next two games on a temporary basis. Chikondi Mandalasi, a fitness coach, and assistant coaches Clwyd Jones and Ronald D. Moroka are among his other technical team members.
Marinica and his assistant, Clwyd, have been observing players, attending league games and test matches, and accumulating information ever since they arrived in Liberia.
In addition to players nominated by other Orange First and Second Division teams as well as the technical committee, Marinica has been able to identify a number of players who will be joining.
He will announce his provisional 30-member local squad list next week for training camp.
Liberia will play Djibouti at home and away during the FIFA qualifier on March 20–26, 2024, in the preliminary round of the 2025 AFCON. The first leg will see Liberia fly to Djibouti.
