Nigerian National, 21-Years Arrested with 150 Tramadol Boxes.

Monrovia, Liberia – In a major drug seizure in Central Monrovia, a Nigerian national was taken into custody by the West Point Detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA).

At at 2:00 PM on September 9, 2025, LDEA officers carried out a search and seizure warrant at the Easy Way business location on Johnson Street, said a LEAD release. Businessman Ilo Arinza, age 21, was arrested as a result of the operation.

Under the direction of a sheriff of the court, officers found 150 boxes of Tramadol and one plastic bag of kush during the search. The drugs were estimated to be worth LRD 184,000 (about USD 1,420) on the black market.

Under the interim supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (OIC) Fitzgerald T.M. Biago, who has reaffirmed a zero-tolerance policy for illicit drug activity throughout Liberia, the operation is a component of a larger crackdown.

“The LDEA is dedicated to eliminating the drug supply chain from start to finish, leaving no ghettos untouched,” he added.

The public is being encouraged to assist the agency in its endeavors by reporting any suspected drug-related activities through its hotline, 0777-133-333.
