Monrovia, Liberia – The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has formally unveiled its Five-Year Strategic Plan (2026–2030), which outlines a comprehensive reform program with the goal of modernizing, tightening regulations, and fostering sustainable growth in Liberia’s gaming industry.
Director General Hon. Peter L. Solo, who spoke at the formal unveiling, characterized the plan as a daring road map intended to recast the Authority as a contemporary, responsible, and socially conscious regulator in line with global best practices.
The five main pillars of the strategy framework include the following: improved regulation and enforcement; modernization of lottery operations and products; digital transformation and integration; increased funding for social responsibility and worthy causes; and governance and institutional reform.
Solo claims that the strategy aims to strengthen internal processes, encourage openness and responsibility, and establish a disciplined gaming environment that protects players while preserving stakeholder interests. He stated that in order to create regulatory authority over online gambling platforms and other digital projects, special attention will be paid to completing and putting into effect Regulations 005 and 006.
To increase income production, competitiveness, and customer engagement nationwide, the Director General also outlined plans to implement cutting-edge lottery items and contemporary operating methods. The NLA’s approach highlights its dedication to social impact, going beyond regulation and income growth. This includes bolstering welfare and good causes funding programs to better serve people with disabilities and other disadvantaged populations.
Solo described the plan as a common vision to reposition the Authority as a model regulatory organization throughout the sub-region and praised the Board of Directors, consultants, and members of the Strategic Plan Committee for their technical contributions and teamwork in creating the document.
With a renewed emphasis on innovation, transparency, and national growth, the five-year strategy, which was introduced with the subject “A Modern, Accountable and Socially Responsible Gaming Regulator,” marks a significant change in the NLA’s operational and regulatory direction.
