Pastors Get Into Fist Fight as Tension Rises at Ganta United Methodist Compound.

Monrovia, Liberia – A face fight between pastors has led to the deployment of police to the United Methodist Church complex in Ganta, Nimba County. After some dissident church members marched into the facility to reportedly take away some of the equipment they claimed belonged to them, the fight that is currently being investigated broke out.

The pastors at the heart of the dispute, Rev. Jerry Kandea and his wife, are said to have left the UMC and joined the Global United Methodist Church. They left the church after hearing unverified rumors that the UMC was supporting regionalization and LGBT policies.

According to reports, the breakaway pastors and a few members entered the facility without notice in order to retrieve their office equipments, but they encountered resistance. According to the report, there was significant tension during the altercation because Rev. Prescillia Legay Gleyenneh prevented them from removing any materials from the office.

A number of accounts claim that the female clergywoman pepper-sprayed her coworkers who had unexpectedly entered the premises. Due to accusations that it supports homosexual or same-sex marriage, the United Methodist Church in Liberia is in serious danger and has split off.
