Engages President Maada Bio On National Issues
Monrovia, Liberia – In an effort to strengthen bilateral relations between the two African nations (Liberia and Sierra Leone), President Joseph N. Boakai has arrived in Sierra Leone via road for high-level talks with President Julius Maada Bio.
The Liberian Leader was received by high level delegation from Sierra Leone at the Boi Water side, the boarder of Liberia and Sierra Leone.
According to Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana, President Boakai and his team are anticipated to remain in Sierra Leone for four working days over the weekend.
She stated that during his visit to Sierra Leone, President Boakai would meet with President Maada Bio and his Sierra Leonean counterpart to talk about important projects that will promote sustainable growth, regional stability, and economic development.
Madam Fofana said that the main topics of discussion would be increasing trade and investment, developing cooperative projects in tourism and agriculture, and enhancing infrastructure. She also mentioned that regional security and collaboration under the MRU framework will be of utmost importance.
A bilateral meeting will be part of the visit, according to the presidential press secretary.
The Liberian leader is also anticipated to interact with the MRU Secretariat and take part in an Agricultural and Tourism Fair organized by the Liberian Embassy in Freetown during his visit to Sierra Leone.
