Monrovia, Liberia – During Liberia’s 141st Thanksgiving ceremony, President Joseph N. Boakai urged all Liberians to love the nation and one other. In addition, the Liberian leader urged Liberians to show love for their country and thank God for its existence.
“Show Love for the country and remember that this country was founded on the principle of worship and fear for God,” he stated.
He said that Liberians should thank God for bringing peace to the country, and that despite the instability that gripped the subregion, Liberia has remained calm.
“As a nation, God has been good to us. Our neighbors in the subregion have been challenged with instability, but the peace of God has been with us.”
President Boakai went on to exhort Liberians to exercise patriotism in carrying out their responsibility to make sure that the resources are utilized to empower everybody.
He claimed that Liberia as a nation may profit from God’s bounties if its citizens have a thankful and patriotic attitude.
The president stated that he continues to pray to God for guidance in observing national issues and prayed that God will send the proper individuals to change the country’s perspective.
“We pray that God answers our prayers by bringing the rightful people around us to help positively impact the nation, that we may all benefit from the national resources,” Boakai said.
