Pres. Boakai Commissions Firefighter New Fire Equipment.

Capitol Hill, Monrovia – A new fleet of firefighting equipment has been put into service by President Joseph N. Boakai to improve the Liberia National Fire Service’s (LNFS) operational capability and preparedness. Six cutting-edge fire vehicles, three water trucks, two working Jeeps, and ten motorbikes for quick response and community involvement were formally turned over at the commissioning ceremony, which took place on the grounds of the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.

These additions mark a significant step in the Boakai administration commitment to improving national safety infrastructure and reducing the risk of fire-related disasters across Liberia. The Boakai administration commitment to enhancing national safety infrastructure and lowering the likelihood of fire-related catastrophes throughout Liberia is demonstrated by these additions.

President Boakai stressed in his remarks that the initiative is a reflection of his administration’s commitment to the ARREST Agenda, which aims to safeguard the people, property, and the environment. “These equipment will not sit in garages. They are tools of service, tools that represent our duty to protect every Liberian community from the devastating impact of fire outbreaks. This Government is determined to build a Liberia where citizens feel safe, and institutions are empowered to deliver,” President Boakai stated.

The President encouraged the Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS) to maintain high levels of professionalism and urged the public to cooperate with fire safety initiatives.

Liberia National Fire Service Director, G. Wasuwah Barvoul Sr., expressed deep gratitude for the landmark investment. “This is a historic moment for the Fire Service. With these new trucks, water carriers, jeeps, and motorcycles, we can now respond faster, reach remote areas, and save more lives. For too long, we’ve worked with limited resources. Today’s commissioning is not just about vehicles, it is about restoring confidence in our ability to protect this nation,” said Col. Barvoul.

He added that the equipment will be placed strategically around the country to ensure fair service delivery, especially in fire-prone and underprivileged communities.

The new fleet will be immediately deployed regionally by the Liberia National Fire Service, with trained personnel tasked using regulation and operating the apparatus to its maximum potential. This move is a component of the Boakai Administration’s continuous investments in institutional regeneration and public safety as it seeks to create a robust, service-oriented government for the Liberian people, the president said.
