Monrovia, Liberia – The first diaspora return conference in Liberia is anticipated to be hosted by President Joseph N. Boakai with the goal of promoting active diaspora involvement.
Speaking during the Executive Mansion weekly briefing in Monrovia on Friday, November 15, 2024, Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana stated that the conference is anticipated to be the first of its kind under this government and that preparations are already underway for the national conversation.
The Liberia Peace and Reconciliation Dialogue and the Heritage Awards, which are scheduled for December 2024, will also take place at the yearly event, she said. President Boakai is dedicated to ensuring that Diaspora Liberians actively participate in the nation’s governing process, according to Madam Fofana.
She added that President Boakai has begun actively engaging with the diaspora population and that the President is considering opening a diaspora office.
President Boakai also characterized the diaspora community’s involvement as crucial, according to Liberia’s presidential press secretary.
The Boakai government revealed how crucial the diaspora is to the nation’s progress. According to President Boakai, he is making everything possible to get every Liberian to support the effort to improve the nation.
