Monrovia, Liberia -President Joseph Nyumah Boakai has warn members of his cabinet and officials of government to work in the best interests of the Liberian people or be dismissed.
“For me and the ARREST Agenda, failure is not an option. So, as a part of the team, you must play your role, live up to the expectations of your job, or step aside. This train is moving, and moving fast. Either you are on board, or you are left behind.”
President Boakai told government officials to stay focused and not be swayed by greed, corruption, or self-interest as the country moves forward. Instead, they should be guided by a sense of duty and responsibility to the citizens.
He asserted that the ARREST Agenda cannot fail, as a result, cabinet members and government officials must fulfill their responsibilities to the best of their abilities or face termination.
The Liberian Leader added that as the people of Liberia have long wished for change, of which the UP Government ought to demonstrate what the Rescue Mission means by paving the way for fresh development that will boost livelihoods and restore much-needed dignity that has been lost over time.
President Boakai bemoaned the fact that his administration does not care how officials are treated, but rather prefer to focus on how they serve the public and ensure that their efforts not only meet present demands but also provide a brighter future for future generations.
”We need to approach things differently, with a fresh feeling of patriotism and a will to keep our word if we are to live up to those hopes. As gifted team members, we need to seize this opportunity to have an open, considerate, and productive discussion. We should discuss and organize the best ways to deal with the social and economic issues that our nation is currently facing.”
President Boakai forewarned his subordinates to keep up the good work in advancing the nation by combining talent, wisdom, and resources to achieve greatness as he aligned his speech to the Cabinet Retreat theme, “Coordination and Performance: Delivering on National Agenda Priorities.”
