Buchanan, Grand Bassa – A three-day special cabinet meeting in the Port City of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, was launched on Monday by President Weah and top members of the Cabinet. President George Weah, who presided over the meeting, gave the crucial national gathering its official opening.

The Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD), which is the focus of the three-day technical working session that included all senior government officials in attendance, including the head of state-owned enterprises, was discussed among other things.

In his remarks during the opening session, President Weah welcomed both new and veteran government officials to the gathering and urged them to keep their goals in mind as they continued to collaborate to provide the Liberian people with the essential items for the upcoming few months.

The Liberian president was intensely concentrated during the conference, which seemed to be quite technical and serious-minded, and he delivered a brief speech to mark the end of the first session on Monday, April 24, 2023.

Superintendent of Grand Bassa County Janjay Baikpah welcomed President Weah and his entourage to Buchanan City earlier and praised the Liberian Leader for infrastructure improvements and the County’s growth. The people of Grand Bassa County, according to him, will always be pleased that President Weah has prioritized the county’s development on the government’s agenda.

Prior to that, Janjay Baikpeh, the Grand Bassa County Superintendent, symbolically presented the President the gavel of authority in accordance with custom. He also led a group of traditional leaders to welcome Mr. Weah and his scop of officials to the county.

Since the last Cabinet Retreat, which was held in Ganta, Nimba County, in 2022, during which acceptable expectations were set, several ministries, agencies, and commissions would be able to present their achievements at the Special Meeting.
