Pres. Weah Reaffirms Commitment to One China Policy

Monrovia – Liberia’s adherence to the “One China” Policy was reaffirmed by President George Manneh Weah on February 14, 2023. Liberia was one of the first nations to adopt the “One China Policy” into law. As H.E. Ren Yisheng, the Chinese Ambassador to Liberia paid him a courtesy visit at the Executive Mansion, President Weah reaffirmed the nation’s commitment.

The Liberian President provided the Ambassador with a guarantee that the two nations will continue to cooperate in an effort to achieve genuine “Win-Win” circumstances.

According to the Executive Mansion, H.E. Ren Yisheng expressed his gratitude to the Liberian President and the government for their support of him throughout his tour of service there.

He also praised the President for defending and exemplifying, respectively, the principles of democracy and the genuine worth of leadership. He committed to China’s ongoing assistance in the fields of capacity development, infrastructure building, and agriculture.
