    Pres. Weah Recommits Gov’t Support to Women Empowerment

    Congo Town – As Liberia Joint other countries around the globe to celebrate International Women’s Day, President George Weah has reaffirmed his government commitment to supporting Women Empowerment, women participation and women inclusion; and challenged women to support each other in Major competition.

    The Liberia Leader said while it is true that Institutions will continue to advorcate for women participation; women should Love and support each other at every Level to ensure that their aimed is accomplished.

    The Liberian Chief Executive maintained that the full participation of women in the political process is a Paramount important to the growth and Development of the country.

    He urged women in the country to register and vote and to contest for public offices across the country. President Weah assured citizens that his government will ensure to educate every woman about the barometric registration process across the country.

    “We will enhance our strategic partnership with the private sector, with support from all stakeholders and donors including the United Nations, European Union, World Bank and the Swedish government to ensure that the needed financial resources are available to support Women Empowerment.”

    As we approach the presidential and Legislative election this year, there is a transition in the voter registration processes from manual to digital registrations processes using baromatic system Mr. Weah said. He Cautioned the National Elections Commission to encourage Women’s participation in the pending 2023 presidential and Legislative election and to educate every voting age person about the new bariatric system.
    Mr. Weah maintained that the government has made significant progress by providing a call center for SGBV, and violence against children cases that will be reported for speedy investigation.

    “As president and feminine in chief, the protection and Empowerment of girls and Children and those segment in our population consider the most vulnerable remain key on my agenda. March 3, each year is set aside to celebrate women’s accomplishment and to recognize the efforts of women in the world; and this year edition is observed globally under the theme: Digital Innovation and Technology, and Gender Equality and under the National theme: Innovating with Technology to promote Gender Equality the program was held Thursday March 3, 2023, at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.
