Monrovia, Liberia – President Xi Jinping has called on the people of Fujian Province in east China to remain dedicated to their development objectives and take the lead in the nation’s modernization effort. During an inspection visit in the coastal province on Tuesday and Wednesday, Xi, who is also the chairman of the Central Military Commission and general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the comments.
According to Xinhua, President Xi stated that Fujian should keep pushing forward with its efforts to create a modern economic structure. He visited Dongshan County in Zhangzhou on Tuesday afternoon. While there, he learnt about the harvest of fish and the selling of dried seafood in a nearby hamlet.
A 23-year-old visitor to the area, Xi expressed his joy at the drastic changes the town has seen and added that the future of China’s rural is undoubtedly brighter. After that, he went to the Gu Wenchang Memorial Hall and took in the motivational acts of the previous Dongshan Party chairman, Gu.
President Xi urged officials to gain public recognition from the people they serve and called on them to take a cue from Gu. Hewas informed about the initiatives being taken locally to enhance cultural heritage protection and foster cross-strait cultural interactions at the Guandi cultural industrial park.
The president made a visit to the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone on Wednesday morning. During his tour, Xi requested that local authorities adjust to the changing circumstances, continuously advance institutional opening up, and accomplish new milestones in extending high-level opening up.
