Monrovia, Liberia – By proclamation, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has designated Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as “New Year’s Day,” which will be recognized as a national holiday across the Republic. Both citizens and foreign residents of the Republic of Liberia are urged by the Proclamation to observe the day.
Additionally, the Proclamation instructs and mandates that all foreign nationals residing within the borders, along with prelates, priests, deacons, evangelists, imams, and other members of the Sacerdotal Order, gather in their respective places of worship to jointly pray for God’s continued generosity and kindness toward all peoples and nations worldwide, especially Liberia’s citizens.
In accordance with the Liberian Code of Laws of 1956’s Patriotic Cultural Observance Law, Title 25, the Proclamation said that the first day of January, known as “New Year’s Day,” is a national holiday that must be properly honored each year.
Many Liberians have the chance to commemorate the enormous generosity and mercy of the Almighty, who has blessed and prospered the labor of all Liberians’ brains, hearts, and hands throughout the last year, on this day.
