As First Lady Kartumu Yarta Boakai Relief Love A Child Orphanage from Bad Structure

Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyumah Boakai has dedicated the Refurbished Love A Child Orphanage Dormitory. The Love A Child Orphanage dormitory in the VOA, Thinker Village neighborhood was renovated by Liberia’s First Lady, Kartumu Yarta Boakai.

The Love A Child Orphanage gotta fire on Jaurury 10, 2020, burning the entire structure, leaving the orphans to congestive sleeping conditions.

First Lady Kartumu Yarta Boakai stated during the dedication ceremony on July 24, 2024, that the building has eight kid-friendly bedrooms, a self-contained apartment for the owner, office space, a living room, a kitchen, and a storeroom. It can house thirty-two kids and seven committed caregivers.

The reconstruction, according to Madam Boakai, is more than simply a structure; it is a construction of hope and a sign of her dedication to the well-being of those who are most in need of it.

“Today, as we dedicate the recently rebuilt Love a Child Orphanage Dormitory, we come together with hearts full of thankfulness and delight. In our efforts to give our beloved children, who have experienced unspeakable suffering and displacement, a second chance in life, this day represents a critical turning point.”

She added that the orphanage’s rebuilding became her first priority as soon as she took office. The First Lady of Liberia narrated that a terrible fire destroyed the sanctuary in 2020, leaving twenty-three children and their caretakers without a place to live. “Since then, these brave souls have been residing in the daycare section of the orphanage’s school, hoping that one day they would have a place to call home again.”

“We have brought these devoted kids and their caregivers back into a loving atmosphere, giving them stability and hope again. This initiative demonstrates our administration’s commitment to the well-being of the most marginalized groups in our society. Not only are we giving them a place to live, but we are also raising their spirits and making sure they develop a sense of love, security, and safety,” Madam Boakai noted.

In order to guarantee that the orphanage and all other orphanages receive the same level of warmth, love, and support as “Love a Child,” she urged stickholders to join her, in saving lives.

According to President Boakai, “Building a new Liberia for all Liberians” is the theme for Liberia 177th Independence Day Celebration, and it refers to an inclusive society that looks out for everyone.

President Boakai expressed gratitude to the first lady for reconstructing the “Love a Child Orphanage home” and requested a donation in honor of her affection for children.

Simultaneously, he depicted the first lady’s action as constructing a nation for an improved Liberia. The Liberian leader instructed the orphanage’s management to take care of and maintain the kids because they are the future generation.

“We are committed to working with you to rebuild and give the children a better life.”

In order to guarantee that underprivileged children have better lives, he urged all stockholders to fund the orphanage.
