Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph N. Boakai received a courtesy visit from renowned business tycoon and leader of Africa and Nigeria, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, during the President’s recent visit to the ECOWAS Heads of State Summit in Nigeria.

The meeting of President Boakai and Dangote provided a crucial forum for talks about enhancing Liberia’s economic prospects, according to an Executive Mansion statement dated July 10, 2024.

This calculated move not only demonstrates Aliko Dangote’s significant influence in fostering international corporate collaboration, but it also highlights the importance of private sector participation in promoting regional economic integration and growth for Liberia.⁸

In a related development, President Boakai was also honored with a visit from former Nigerian President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, demonstrating a shared commitment to bolstering ties and strengthening the long-lasting ties between Liberia and Nigeria.

The conversation between President Boakai and Dangote exemplifies the resonance between political authorities and leaders of the private sector in promoting sustainable economic growth and creating an atmosphere that is favorable for trade and investment, particularly for Liberia.

According to President Boakai, these interactions will serve as catalysts for the development of inclusive, win-win relationships that would ultimately boost Liberia’s economy and advancement.
