Capitol Hill, Monrovia – President George Manneh Weah has sent a congratulatory message to the President of Romania, President Klaus Iohannis, on the occasion of Romania’s National Day on December 1, 2023. In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, President Weah wished the government and people of the Republic of Romania a very happy National Day on behalf of the government and people of the Republic of Liberia and in his own person.
The leader of Liberia observed with satisfaction the friendly relationship that has existed between the two nations for a long time as they joined the people of Romania in celebrating this historic occasion.President Weah emphasised that the Romanian head of state’s high-level visit to Liberia in the 1980s strengthened diplomatic ties between the two nations and that the cooperation had benefited both governments and peoples in several ways.
Additionally, the leader of Liberia expressed optimism that in the years to come, their two peoples’ bilateral cooperation would be strengthened and would involve cooperative economic and trade endeavours as well as scholarships for their citizens. Mr. Weah wished President Iohannis continued health, true advancement, and prosperity for the kind people of the Republic of Romania.
