President Weah congratulates China on 74th independence

Capitol Hill – For the occasion of celebrating the 74th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China’s founding, President George Manneh Weah extended a message of congratulations to the government and citizens of the People’s Republic of China.

President George Manneh Weah sent a message to Xi Jinping, the leader of the People’s Republic of China, in which he offered the Chinese government and people his personal congratulations and warmest well wishes as they observed this momentous occasion. The message was sent on behalf of the government and people of Liberia.

The Liberian leader then expressed his hope and prayer that as Chinese citizens mark yet another significant date in their country’s history under President Xi Jinping’s leadership, they will continue to experience the blessings of peace, unity, and prosperity.

The Liberian leader harboured the hope that the friendly ties of friendship and cooperation already existing between the two nations and peoples will be further bolstered in the spirit of African solidarity as they cooperate to further the principles of the United Nations for the promotion of global peace and security.

According to a Foreign Affairs release, President Weah added that while he guides his countrymen towards greater prosperity, he looks forward to cooperating with his Chinese colleague.
